Bart J. Eagle is Of Counsel to the firm and specializes in commercial transactions and litigation.  Prior to Mr. Eagle working with the firm in 2014, Mr. Eagle started his own firm in 1997 and, prior to that, he spent ten years at a firm where he rose to partner, specializing in commercial law and litigation. 

Mr. Eagle has represented individuals and entities, in federal and state courts, before administrative tribunals, and in arbitration and mediation proceedings.  He has handled disputes resulting from commercial financing relationships; shareholder and partnership disputes; license and distribution disputes; employment matters; contract actions; RICO claims; securities frauds actions; and insurance coverage disputes.  In addition, Mr. Eagle has negotiated and drafted commercial agreements including factoring, license, employment, severance, distribution, asset purchase, collaboration, service, shareholder, operating, partnership, internet usage agreements, leases and assignments of intellectual property rights.

Before entering private practice in January, 1988, Mr. Eagle spent six and one-half years as an assistant district attorney in Queens County, New York. As a member of the Homicide Trial Bureau, the Major Offense Prosecution Program, and a Supreme Court Trial Bureau, Mr. Eagle investigated, tried and obtained convictions for murder, other armed and violent felonies, and economic crimes, thus giving him a solid foundation to the be the formidable trial attorney he is today.

Mr. Eagle is on the rosters of mediators for the American Arbitration Association, the Commercial Division of the New York County Supreme Court of the State of New York, and the Coop and Condo Panel of the New York City Bar Association. Mr. Eagle is a member of the New York State Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Section and Mediation Committee, the New York State Bar Association Commercial and Federal Litigation Section, and the New York City Bar Association State Courts of Superior Jurisdiction Committee.  From 2012 through 2016, Mr. Eagle was a member of the New York City Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.

Mr. Eagle is admitted to practice in the State of New York and before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. 

Mr. Eagle has taught seminars and workshops in trial advocacy to junior attorneys and judged moot court and mock trial competitions at St. John’s University School of Law.  He is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and served as an instructor of the Advanced Moot Court Workshop.
